Taiwan Day 6: Taichung to Taipei,

On this day, we finally proceeded to Taipei!!! This is the part that I've been anticipating the most throughout my whole trip! But who knew it'd start raining from this day till the end of our trip, which was also the whole of our Taipei stay..... :(

Finally reached TPE agn!!

We foresaw that we'd be travelling often via their MRT so we bought their EasyCard. Things were made easier for me whenever I travel with Zach because he's the one who does everything while my job was to wait for him to snap photos of everything. HAHAH! Kidding.

Headed to our hotel at Ximen station - Westgate Hotel - which is just 1 minute walk from the station. It's rlly that convenient!!!! That being said, it's also expensive and the interior design is quite atas too! I saw this hotel on a third party website and thought it'd be good if we could at least have a stay in a good hotel during this trip. So yep, it costs us about SGD770 in total for this hotel. The interior design looks like this. It's all the way below though.

Anyway, because it was raining heavily and we were famished, we decided to go Taipei Underground Mall//QSquare. It was recommended by our cabbie back in Taichung. According to him, the Taipei Underground Mall is huge and has many things to shop and buy to which we disagreed (after spending our time there). The clothing aren't for our ages so there's rlly NOTHING there for us to buy. Ok lah, at least I bought another few pairs of socks there. Not bad already.

Settled our lunch at a foodcourt and we both just kept quiet//used our phones while waiting for the food to be ready because we were deadbeat!

My noodle is so yummy for an exhausted and hungry girl. Even Baby agreed that mine tasted nicer than his. Hahah!

Done with our wandering and meal, and we decided to head back to Ximending and spent some time at The Red House before we started our shopping spree opposite.

It's very normal that people use umbrella with the handle in Taiwan. So we decided to blend in and bought a white translucent brolly right before we checked into our hotel room. I fell in love w that brolly at first sight! I love this kind of brolly, and dislike the ones we bring out in Singapore, because I don't have to be afraid of injuring myself when keeping the umbrella. Yes, I got kiap-ed a few times before when closing the small umbrella and that's why I'm never seen with small umbrella when I'm out.

We shopped all the way till 8plus and chanced upon this cafe called Oyami cafe and decided to give it a try. Anyway, this cafe is located inside Ximending. We saw it on Internet about this cafe but didn't find it with intention of trying. But it was just so nice that we walked past this cafe thus if one were to ask me the exact location, I rlly dk how to answer them. Hahahah!

As mentioned previously, the cafes in Taiwan have this policy of each customer has to order one drink each. So this time, we got smarter (and perhaps I wasn't feeling hungry at all). We ordered on main and dessert apart from the drink policy thingy.

Baby's Mixed Fruit Tea

Banana and Chocolate Waffle

Did they think this was for Baby instead?

Went for a walk arnd Ximending and headed back to our hotel for an early rest. That's all. Goodnight.

Day 5: Luce Chapel x Miyahara Eye Hospital x AhMing Shi Lao Dian x Yizhong Street Market,

Halfway through my exams! The end is nearing, I can totally smell the freedom approaching! Hahah! Rlly can't wait for everything to end because I seriously need a good slp!

Day 5:
It's our 2nd day in Taichung and we woke up late because... THERE'S NO WINDOWS IN THE AIBNB ROOM THAT WE BOOKED! The only window the whole place has was the square one in the toilet. Prepared and off we went!

First stop: Yi Zhong Street // 一中街夜市
We were famished by the time we reached the place and we decided that we should settle our lunch in a Japanese restaurant! LOL! It's like, wherever we go, we'll definitely go for Jap cuisine at least once!

We ordered two set meals that comes with one side dish. The main itself is already damn big and when the waitor served the mains to our table, our first reaction was "OMG, SUCH A BIG PORTION!!". Just see the size of the omelette rice!!

Cabbed down to The Luce Chapel after our meal as our intention was not to shop the market during daytime. The chapel is located in a school - Tung Hai University. So, the cabbie wasn't able to drive in to the chapel so he dropped us at the gate. This chapel never disappoint us! We stayed there and took 2hrs worth of photo! Just scroll down and you'll knw! Hahahah!

Snapchat time! :/

Love this so much! ❤

I wasn't kidding when I mentioned that we took hell lots of photos!! HAHAH! There are more below. We decided to do some mainstream couple kind of photos. Like this...

But we realised that it wasn't easy afterall because it took us 3 to 4 sets of multi shots before we could get ONE-FREAKING PROPER PHOTO! The truth behind taking these photos... All the tak glam ones!

The aftermath. LOL!
We had to catch the timing of the shutter so we ended up stoning at the camera while looking at the blinking light on my camera. HAHAHAH! But it was fun after all because we don't usually do these in Singapore! Time flew by super quickly. It was already 5pm when Baby checked the time. It felt as if it was only an hour.

Proceeded to the bus stop outside the school to take bus 88 to THSR before we headed down to Miyahara Eye Hospital for their ice cream. HAHAH! This place used to be an eye clinic during World War. You may read more info here. And yes, the interior design is really vintage and pretty. To me, it's like the institution where Harry Potter studies. Maybe just me! Anyway, they sell local delicacies such as 太阳饼,凤梨酥 and more...

We went next door for our ice cream because the reason why we're here is because of the ice cream and not for the snacks.

We ordered waffle cup + 2 scoops of ice cream. We could choose 3 sides for our dessert. So this was the end product.

It was damn huge!

Headed to s'where where the netizens claimed that it was one of the most famous places to buy Taiwan snacks back home. It's called 阿明师老店. Oh, the good thing about this shop is that it has delivery service. It was our last day in Taichung that day and the person said they could deliver to our hotel in Taipei the following week because if we were to purchase the snacks at that time, everything would have expired on the day we left Taiwan. HAHAH! So yupp, make sure you check the expiry dates and also check with the staffs whether they do delivery around the whole of Taiwan.

Headed back to Yizhong night market for more food! Erm, we were quite full by then so we dabao-ed food back to our apt. But, who knew it'd turn so nua when we reached our place :(

And this marks the end of our day 5 in Taiwan! We had to pack our luggage that night because..... WE ARE HEADING TO TAIPEI THE NEXT DAY!!
