Korea Day 1: Changdeokgung x Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken,

Good afternoon, all!

Frisbee camp just ended a few days ago but I'm not gna talk about it YET! All I can say for now is: I have so much fun during the camp!! It's rlly one of the best camps I've ever attended.

Since I'm still tired from the camp and have no mood to get into my revision, I shall just update about my Korea trip.

As I've mentioned from here, our day 0 was spent onboard the whole day. We managed to catch the last train from ICN Airport to Sangwangsimni Station. The place where we stayed was just 5mins (or lesser) away from the stn. Yes, the place is rlly very convenient!

Day 1:

If I'm not wrong, we woke up rather late on this day because it was already 2am when we got ready for bed. Prep and off we went to Anguk Stn. We purchased our T-money from the machine in the stn. Suagu me being suagu but I rlly love how Korea LTA (okay, LTA bcos Singapore's is called LTA. hahah!) made their T-money like a keychain. No one will have that excuse of saying "I lost it!".

Anyway, our initial plan was to find a nice cafe to have our brunch but there was none in sight, so we decided to enter a random Korean eating house instead. The eating place is just beside the stairs that you exit from the stn. Guess what! The food was rlly good! Ok, that applied to only mine bcos Zac said that his was just... meh!

The sides in Korea

I rlly love their bulgogi rice! Okay, I've to admit that I don't rlly appreciate their free side dishes. The veg tastes rlly rubber-ish, or maybe that's just me lah! I don't take spicy food too. So, nah... No thumbs from me but the boyf told me some sides were rlly good esp their kimchi.

After brunch, it was time to visit the place where the royals lived - Changdeokgung and The Secret Garden!

We decided to walk to The Secret Garden, which was just behind the palace, and joined the English tour. I swear The Secret Garden is rlly very secretive! There's so many uphills to walk and stoned stairs. OMG, I was complaining to Zac all the time and it was so hot! The sun did not show any mercy on that day. I got tanner after that day.

The tree that needs clutches for support.

The won't-go-old-doorframe (I walked twice).

JUST SEE HOW STEEP IT IS! OMG!

We left the tour early bcos I rlly couldn't take it. It's boring me and there were quite a few mosquito bites on me. Oh yeah, before we left...

First "street food" in Korea, which was a few metres away from the palace.

LOL! Not very fond of this waffle bcos it's full of whipped cream. Took a stroll at the roads nearby and we chanced upon this dessert shop. We decided to head in for some chillax time because the weather was rlly hot and burning!

Oreo snow ice

Some nuts-smth.

We regretted ordering one each because our teeth and mouth were refreezing. It's okay, headed down to Bukchon Village at the same stn (Anguk) next. I rlly love their traditional houses (on the outside). It's not that I don't like the interior but we didn't enter any of the traditional houses at all. Anyway, we did peep in a bit bcos the door was opened. It's exactly the same as the ones we saw in those ajumma korean dramas. Hahah. Not many photos of Bukchon V here bcos it's the same everywhere.

It was dinner time and we had the Tosokchon Ginseng Chicken @ Gyeongbokgun Stn, Exit 2. According to my research, this place is a must-go when you visit South Korea. So, we decided to put this on the first day of our trip! It was at about 7plus when we reached and the q was long! But bcos the place is big, we didn't have to wait for long.

I had a hard time using Korea's chopsticks...
Okay, I rlly had a hard time getting used to their chopsticks. They were flat on top and round at the bottom. Ah, sounds wrong... But they are like this! I got used to the chopsticks only after the 1st wk in Korea........ Quite sad ah. Already having problems using the "normal" chopsticks in Singapore, then I had to used Korea's. #GOODJOBLEEN!

It was 9plus 10PM and we decided to head back to our apt to rest because I wasn't feeling well due to the blazing sun and heat in the afternoon. And, this was how we ended our first day in Korea.
