Wheeler's Yard,

I've been wanting to go to Wheeler's Yard since quite some time ago. So, I met J on one of my off days and off we went to Wheeler's Yard. It was quite hard to find. I was so lost even with the help of Google Map. Apparently, the blue indicator on the map kept moving around even after I stationed myself at one spot to check for the navigation.

Took Bus 145 from TPY interchange and alighted 4 stops later. The bus stop we alighted was very far from the place. I felt so cheated by the map once again. We had to walk like 2 streets (or 3) to reach ONLY Jln Ampas. Walked further in to Lor Ampas and Wheeler's Yard is located just opposite Balestier Warehouse.

I love the concept of the cafe. It has those nostalgic feel to me. They have what you call the typewriter near the counter, batman on the counter, big containers filled with childhood snacks.

Then, I saw the cakes and I was so tempted to order. But I'm not a big eater, hence I decided to forgo that. I will definitely be back for you (and truffle fries) soon!

My Wheeler's Yard Big Brkfast @ $19.90
J's Beef Burger @ $16.90
Hmmm, I don't really like the way the scrambled egg is cooked. I can't exactly describe the type of scrambled eggs I like. I regretted not ordering sunny sides instead. I didn't finish the toast as well. But I love their hashbrown. I tried a bit of the fries and kinda like it. Thus, I would love to go back for their truffle fries. I hope it will be good too. According to J, he mentioned that the beef burger was good. So y'all might wna try the beef burger instead. Otherwise, big breakfast with sunny sides and not scrambled eggs. Just a suggestion.

I'll be working tomorrow when it's PH for most of the working people out there. But I'm glad to say that I will be having another 2 consecutive off-days after tomorrow. And now, it's time for my dinner. Goodbye!

Picnic @ Marina Barrage,

19th April: Picnic with poly clique.

The reason why we had this picnic was bcos I owe Twinny one picnic since last May during our internship. Hahah, yes! It's that long bcos I was always busy, according to her. So I suggested a picnic within our clique on one of my off-days. And yes, that day finally arrived!

It was very sunny and stuffy (with little wind) when we exited the station. We couldn't find the bus-stop for the bus to Marina Barrage. They changed the route without placing a notice board or smth at the Exit B (as directed from the website). So we walked one big round to the bus stop via the tunnel to the (old) bus stop that I rmbred in my mind. But no, the new bus stop to Marina Barrage was located outside MBFC. Finally boarded the bus towards Marina Barrage after a good 30mins exploring the routes -_-

It was rlly damn hot and sunny when we reached there. Good thing I brought my sunscreen (and shades for myself) along to save two of the girls and I.

One of the things that cannot be missed during a picnic none other than food! My boyfriend actually said "wine" as the answer. Reminds me of our mini picnic last May when we had a bottle of red wine to accompany us.

So, SH and Twinny prepared food, XH and QY prepared fruits and drinks while me, I prepared the easiest; I bought snacks (due to time constraints and I knw nuts about cooking) which in the end I had to bring home again because everyone was full and tired to eat after some time. HAHAH!

SH's pan-fried hotdogs (and one of my favourites)

SH's fried potatoes

My special sandwich by Twinny

We decided to fly a kite since Twinny brought her kite along. But problem was, there was no string so she and SH went down to buy. They took soooo long that QY and I started camwhoring and XH helped us from another angle.

Our reactions were the same when Twinny finally took her kite out from the cover. It has to be fixed, like a puzzle kind of things. People who knw me well will know that I'm super bad at figuring things (except for real puzzles) so I just stood there and be their photographer.

See, you get what I mean now? That was also my first time seeing a literally 3D kite so far in my 22years of life. For a few times, we thought we successfully fixed the kite but apparently we were wrong. The group of adults beside our place were looking at us trying hard to fix the puzzle-kite until one of them came forward to help us. I think he was so speechless seeing these few silly kids trying to fix a kite yet still kept failing.

All in all, we took almost 45mins to fix one kite. #Achievementunlocked. It was able to fly in the mid-air... For awhile.

Then it dropped...
The few vain girls with the end product of the kite.

Somehow I love going to Marina Barrage. Reason being, there will definitely have people bringing their dogs there for a walk! Saw this mixed breed (Labrador Retriever, according to the owner) and it's uber cute! I think it looks more like English Cocker Spaniel though. No photo of me because it's kinda unglam. So here's my Twinny instead.

So fluffy I'm gna die

Don't you think the sky is pretty?

This is actually my camera effect. LOL

The night sky.

Left Marina Barrage at 8PM and we were hesitating where to go. But due to work the next day, I decided to head home straight after I reached the station. That was my 3rd picnic with different groups of friends. Humans before I go off.

Back to work!

Dinner with the April Babies,

It took me more than an hour to edit the layout of my blog last night. The result of staying up so late just to edit the template is: nothing but headache. Actually the reason is because I've 2 consecutive off days today and tomorrow! After these 2 off days, I will have to work all the way till next Wednesday for my next off-day. So, why not? I'm still trying to figure out how to edit mobile template though.

Recently I've been reading up on the posts of some famous bloggers in Singapore (during work). The bloggers are all so pretty! /Give the spazz face/

*
Celebrated the 2 April babies (belated) birthdays a few weeks back. We were supposed to have Marmalade Pantry for dinz but the q was too long and we had to wait for so damn long. So we decided to change to a Chinese restaurant (?): Lu Gang Xiao Zhen by The Asian Kitchen. From a more-of-Western cuisine to Asian one.

It's a pity that we had to split into 2 tables as there were a total of 7 of us. These were what the other table (Sylvia, Martin and Wei Jun) ordered. I had to kneel onto the cushion-chair (or whatever you call that) and stretch my body just to take all these. That's just one of the few disadvantages when we split tables! /death stares/

Then, these were what we (Huey Zhen, Constance, Kai Ting and I) ordered:

I love the 烧肉 so much that I didn't bother eating the 烧鸭. The skin of the roasted pork was really crispy that I could hear Mama chewing from a distance (not too far though). This can be compared to the one I had during Arthur's 1st birthday!

Apple-smth + chicken soup.
I seriously didn't knw apple can be cooked and be served with a soup. Apparently, apple soup is good for people who have phlegms. Not bad!

My Scallop fried rice (agn!)

Tung Hoon

Broccoli + mushroom

The last dish was not rlly nice. The chicken meat was rlly rough and I had only one piece of that. Told Mum about this place and I'm gna return for their roasted pork for sure! Seriously a 5-thumbs up even though it can be quite oily. But then again, I will just remove the fats and eat the rest! Though that's not the right way to eat a roasted pork.

No pictures with the humans (as a clique) because we all departed without taking any group photos. The next time I'll be seeing some of them will be the day we are going BKK on the 16th May!

On a side note, 9 days more till Baby returns home!
