Family Trip to Hong Kong - Part 2,

Yay, hello there!

It's time for my Hong Kong Part 2 now!! Part 1 can be viewed here.

So here goes:

DAY 4 IN HONGKONG

This is the day when I forgot to bring my camera out with me so bear with the quality of the photos ah!! We started our day with a meal at One Dimsum (一点心) where I couldn't even finish 1/4 of it!

1.

2. Carrot cake

3. Char siew buns

4.

5. Chee cheong fun

6.

7.

8.

9. 马来糕

10. Har gao

11. Mango-smth

So, out of so many that we ordered, I couldn't eat 1, 2, 7, 8 and 10. Oh, and 11 too because I don't eat mango! Despite that, I was alrdy so full after eating a bit. I've no idea why seriously. Maybe my denim high waist pants was quite tight that day... Anyway, I've to comment that #4 tastes good! It contains red bean filling on the inside and tasted so much like mochi! YUMS PLEASE!!

I'd definitely go back for this again but during non-peak period! We waited for almost an hour that morning and the place was super small. Just imagine ah, it's like you queued for so long but finished your food within, erm... Half an hour? T_T

We headed to Lantou Island next for the long flight of stairs to reach the super huge Buddha statue. We took cable car up which took us about 30mins or so.

Everywhere looks beautiful on this day! The weather was rlly good even though the sun was shining mercilessly at us! But, hey! Tell me who doesn't appreciate this kind of weather whenever we travel? I rlly dislike rain / foggy weathers ah... But yep, thanks to me being forgetful, there's no pretty photos taken using my camera.

After the trip there, we took a cable car ride down again. And lemme jot down this incident down as a reminder for myself! So, as yknw... In every cable car, there'll be 2 doors (but usually only one side would open). So, when we were on our way back to the Citygate Outlets, I had this intention to do a frame-lapse using my phone. So, I placed it on the latch beside the window in a landscape mode but who knew that it's actually a gap there and there's nothing to put your stuff there! FML!

It's like an instant suicide for my phone. The moment I heard the sound of it dropping, I gasped "SHIT! I JUST DROPPED MY PHONE!"........... LOL! It was quite an epic moment because my dad, as usual, scolded me. Bro helped to see if there's anything below to support my phone... Or, like what I imagined it: dropped into the jungle below. The guy sitting opposite us tried to help us check too and yay, both guys told me that it's stuck in the gap below. Thank God for the rubbish that other passengers threw! I think it looks smth like this? But of this, this was taken on our way there and not during the trip when we were making our way back to the City.

Also, I placed my phone there because when we were on our way to Lantou Island, I saw that the there's a latch for us to put our things there and that's the reason why I didn't check during our 2nd trip! LOL! Lesson learnt! Thankfully, I didn't have to spend a sum of money to buy a new phone! Hiakhiak! Oh, I've to also commend the staffs there because they were damn efficient!

Bro was the first to alight from the cable car to inform the staffs ASAP about the incident. We were instructed to alight and 3 technicians entered the cable car and within a minute or so, my phone was retrieved! Woohoo! It was rlly epic because everyone clapped the moment one of the technicians successfully took my phone out from the gap! We then concluded that this might not be the first time such thing happened. Hahah!

DAY 5 IN HONGKONG

Had our breakfast at Kam Wah Cafe. This is also the second visit during this trip because it's rlly good! Tried ordering smth new thing time. No photos though because I didn't bring camera again. This day, we went Shenzhen which is just a river across HK's border. It's a tad bit troublesome because whenever you enter the stn (even if it's just passing by), there'd be security checks for sure! Stamped our passports and off we went!

We didn't rlly explore the whole Shenzhen. My research told me that we need at least one full day there to at least explore a bit of it. But we only had a few hours there so we only explored the area just outside Laojie stn -  Sun Plaza & Dongmen Pedestrian Zone. Tbh, I've no idea what which mall is which but there's one particular mall that looks so much like Bugis Village in Singapore!! Even the clothes there are cheap too! Okay lah, mostly are impulsive buys I supposed?

We settled our dinner before heading back to HK @ this place called Cafe de Coral where we had to, erm... Snatch for seats? There's this lady who wasn't there for a meal yet talking on the phone for so freaking long. Idk what was she up to but the fact that she's occupying a table of 4 rlly pissed me a lil!

Passed the Immigration port and we headed for 2nd round of dinner at about 8-ish PM @ Hing Kee Restaurant. We had two different bowls of claypot rice! Yums, I love claypot rice but forever don't know how to mix them well! They have bowls that we'd use it when we were still a kid! Too cute! If I didn't rmb wrongly, the oyster omelette tasted a bit too oily.

We proceeded to Yee Shun Dairy Company, a place where I had wanted to visit during my first trip to HK! I think one should patronise with an empty stomach because their pudding is so yums!! I could easily go for 2 bowls if I wasn't feeling full from my dinners! Compared between chocolate and almond pudding, needless to say, of course I went for chocolate! I dislike the smell of almond so, nope thank you!

DAY 6 IN HONGKONG

Breakfast @ Lan Fong Yuen. This time, we went to the one that's air-conditioned. Baby and I patronised the one that was by the road side previously so I was quite surprised when we were heading to a mall this time. But it's okay! The food was still good!

Anyway, we beat the queue this time as we bought package deals to Madame Tussauds + observatory + tram. Now I know why the queue was super long. Baby and I even took cab to the peak previously. Hmmm, not my first time there so I won't be going into details so, only photos for this part :)

Then it was dinner. We moved on to Yat Lok where I almost got choked with the amount of oil from the roast goose. HAHAHAH! No doubt the skin was crispy and texture was good! Not one of my favourites but will definitely go back again if the boyf's gna visit HK w/ me. But very touristy because there were a group of Singaporeans just behind us and we spotted some foreigners as well! Their 烧肉 was the bombz!

Walked the stretch of Victoria Harbour after dinner. Unfortunately, we missed the Symphony of Lights as we reached after 8PM. So, when we were there - June 2016, Avenue of Stars was blocked due to some construction or whatsoever. Basically, we visited Victoria Harbour with disappointment lah.

Back to hotel and as it was our last day in HK, we had to pack our luggage and mood before we headed back to Singapore. But before that, Bro went Argyle Centre to collect the souvenir that he bought for us. It's a DIY keychain that looks super cute!

We were commenting how Mum's keychain looks so much like her irl!! There are also "老妈 老爸大哥 小妹" written at the back of each keychain respectively. Super cute!

DAY 7 IN HONG KONG

As it was our last day in HK, we decided to wake up early to check out and headed to Kam Wah cafe for the last time before returning to Singapore. This is how much my family loves Kam Wah ok! No joke!

Took train to Olympian City which was a completely waste of time! I don't rmb it being like this a few years back. Or maybe, it was my memory that failed me lah. Shuttle service from our hotel to the airport! The flight back to Singapore was smooth too, thankfully!

And then... I saw my favourite boy waiting for us at the arrival hall area! Ah, the entries of HK trip aren't properly entered because it was rlly too long from now. I wish that I wouldn't be lazy in future so that I can jot down every tiny details of the trip!
