Japan Day 9: Yokohama

Hello,

Firstly, I would like to wish all mothers, esp MY MUM, a...

HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY!
Taken during our trip to Beijing
It's definitely not easy bringing me up since I was born. I was the but my mum did it and is still doing her best in giving me the much needed support since I started my job hunt. Job hunting hasn't been a good one but my family has definitely given me a pair of listening ears each!

Alright, down to Day 9 of my Japan trip! On this day, we went a day trip to Yokohama for its must-visit Cup Noodle Museum and another part of the small city.

We settled our breakfast at McDonald's since we haven't tried the Mac's in Japan yet. So why not? I love their menu so much, even their fries!!

If I'm not wrong, I tried the teriyaki chicken burger. Can't rmb what Mr. Z ordered. We also topped 300yen (~ SGD4) to buy their Classic Fry Hachimitsu Mustard Sauce for their fries! No regrets!!

I had Teriyaki Chicken burger and the patty was soooo soft! Love their burgers! Everything literally melted in my mouth, except for the lettuce (duh!). Had a very satisfying meal at McDonald's which I hadn't expected lah. Started our day in Yokohama by going to........

They really do have more variety of soft toys in this outlet! Do check out the store here if you are in Yokohama for a day! :) Bought what my Bro wanted and my mission was accomplished!

Off we went for our Cup Noodle Museum where we stayed for about 2hours there!

We were lucky to enter the museum at the right time because an elderly man came up to us with this discounted voucher. Initially I didn't know what he wants and he kept shoving this voucher to me until Mr. Z came to understand the situation. I mean, all he did was shoving the piece of paper to me and I didn't even have the time to process what it was... Hahah, but we thanked him profusely after we managed to understand what he was trying to do! May God bless this kind-hearted guy! :)

Fun fact 1: I used to eat cup noodles almost everyday after school back when I was studying in Anderson Secondary School because there's this bubble tea shop located just at the end of the block opposite the school! I think this is also part of the reasons why I'm so petite? Lack of nutrition when I was still growing!

Fun Fact 2: I used to eat McDonald's quite often when I was in Sec 1 - 3. Now that when Mr. Z and I think back, we'd always go "fxxking gross please!". LOL!!

Spot anything familiar?

Design your own cup noodle! One cup for 300 Yen I think? Mr. Z and I bought a total of 5 cups, 2 for him and 3 for myself but of course we'd be giving one to friend/family!

As I wasn't an artistic person, I didn't have any idea of what to draw on the cup while Mr. Z started wayyyy earlier than me (watch the video below to see how long I took. It was in fact longer than what it was in the video!). Plus, I've to draw three cups while Mr. Z had only 2 cups to draw!

Yep, very serious!

My Charmander looks super weird though
Quite happy with this cup of mine. I was trying so hard to draw the outline while looking at the image in my phone! But yay, Mr. Z who can draw so much better than me approved of my drawing! Done with our drawing and we proceeded to fill our cups with noodles and ingredients that we wanted.

Once you're done with your cup noodles, you have to proceed to a corner to pump air into the plastic baggage. Only one cup noodle for each plastic bag. We had 5 cups, hence 5 bags of cup noodles. LOL!

Like this!
Done with the museum and we moved on to Kamakura Station...

The weather was really bad. It felt like it was 35 deg C, I just had to buy some snacks and rest s'where while Mr. Z searched for the right direction before we moved towards the venue.

Just checked my Dayre and it was 29 deg C on that day! Damn, I can still remember vividly how bad the weather was!!! Settled our lunch at a restaurant in Kamakura and thankful for the aircon in the place! Udon for lunch!! :)

We took train to their famous Kamakura Crossing where we really stayed for quite long just to take a few nice shots. TBH, none of the photos are nice lah. It was quite dark with no sunlight at all. I think it was already 4-ish in the evening. Quite sad!

We missed Hokokuji bamboo forest during this trip because it closes at 4pm and started our lunch at 330pm. We bought a one-day ticket each for this trip and it was actually a bit waste of money because we didn't explore much. No sunset either, because the sky wasn't clear which was also the reason why we didn't stop by Enoshima.

Back to Tokyo via train. Settled our dinner at one of the restaurants at the underground mall in Shinjuku area. Unagi bento! Not bad for the price!! I mean, how bad can unagi be when you're in Japan right?

Purchased Bake Cheese Tarts too. What is Japan without their cheese tarts? And I love these so much!!! Unlike Singapore, the queue in Japan was like, erm. 5 minutes? One cheese tart for 200yen before tax. 真是好吃!

This was how we spent our 9th day in Japan! Video below was taken only in the museum.
