Taiwan Day 4: Nantou to Taichung,

It was day 4 of our trip! The night at Starry House was rlly very peaceful. The room was super quiet yet not stuffy kind of environment. Oh, we were also advised not to open the door at night because the flies would fly into our room and if that happens, it'd be very troublesome for us, including the hosts there. Hahahah

Not sure if I've mentioned about this (I'm lazy to refer to my previous itinerary post...) but Baby woke up at 5 or 6plus to catch the first light while I cont'd slping. Hahahah! But, it was a failed one lah. The sun wasn't in sight according to him and by judging from the photos below, the sun was blocked by the mountains there!

The start of our day 4 was having complimentary breakfast at the cafe area! It was a simple yet filling breakfast! There were only coffee or tea available so I had plain water instead. Yes, the toasts were rlly daebak!!

Back to our room to have a final check and packing of luggage because I was too lazy to pack the night before even though we were there for only a night. Saying goodbye to our stay there, our room and the ever-friendly husky!

It was rlly cold up there despite having the sun so near to us!

His favourite breed!
Off we went to Taichung with the super friendly taxi-driver of the day! He's so knowledgeable! He told us everything that he knew about the landmarks and etc!

First stop: Feeling 18 Degree Chocolate Factory //十八度C巧克力工房

This is one of the recommended dessert places in Taichung! Oh, it's about an hour ride from Cingjing anyway! Not that bad! The sun was quite merciless at the time when we reached this place. So, it's definitely worth getting one!

As the image above stated, one has to pay first before you can choose the flavours that you want. So, Baby and I got a cup of 3 to share. According to the staff, each person could have one sample flavour to try before they decide on what flavour they want.

But you see, there are so many flavours here to choose! And being the fickle-minded me, I couldn't decide on which flavour to get. Baby and I chose one sample each to try and after that, smth else caught my attention and I was like "why didn't I see that earlier?" And the staff scooped on small spoon for me to try despite already having one to try just now. I like how friendly and nice the staff is! But I think the word "nice" is an understatement!

Because Baby always give me the rights to decide on food like this, I ended up choosing the basic ones... Hahahah! Swiss Chocolate, Banana Chocolate and Green Tea. But hey! Green tea was something new to me. Which I regretted a bit lah. Cus the smell was too strong for me. Baby ended up finishing the green tea instead. Not a tea-person here!

Oh! Be amazed because the cabbie told us that we could also get unlimited cup of coffee from the shop opposite. That shop is also under Feeling 18. Headed there and Baby said the coffee was damn bitter. Yupp, it's pure coffee without any milk or sweetener. If you want to ton the whole night in Taichung, you might want to get 2 cups of this! HAHAHAHAH!

One look at it and you'll know it's very bitter lor!

Proceeded to the Bazaar at the carpark area to take a look at those booths. But erm.. Like nothing much ah. Took photos before we headed to our second venue of the day.

Second stop: Moncoeur // 心之芳庭

The back view of our lovely tour-driver

It's interesting how the tourist attractions in Taichung allow us to use the coupons to sort of like offset the price of our admission tickets to make it more worth. (Y)

Sorry, too many spammed photos of me... Hahahah! Okay, something else now!

See that pretty building beside the wishing wall?
That's a very pretty church and it's a very popular place for couples to get married in Taichung! It's rlly so pretty that you'll have the urge to go in to take a look at the place. But too bad, it's locked! No trespassers! Tall boyf being tall, he managed to get this pretty shot here!

Proceeded to the souvenir store where we bought two boxes of lavender stuff - one candle (for one of my friends who is a fan of candles) and one to put in car (for the driver). Everything here is just too pretty. It'd be a waste if I don't upload them here!

DIY stuff

Third stop: Carton King Creativity Park // 紙箱王

We were greeted with this when we were about to enter the park.

Look at the animals that are done using cupboards!!

Of cus there are more! But I think 2 images are enough for now. Hahahah! Souvenir shop again where Baby and I bought 1 standing photo album each.

So pretz!

Oh! The park has stations for us to collect stamp so that we can exchange that for a free souvenir at a place later on...

Not sure how we gotten the leaves for writing down our wishes but whatever! We didn't let go of the chance of making a wish. Hehee!

We were famished by then and decided to stop by the restaurant for our lunch. Guess what! The seats are made of cupboards and I was being a bit skeptical sia. I was afraid that it would break after I sat on it... But apparently, it was super strong that the a person who's 2-3 times my size and weight could sit on it too!

The menu

A lot right?!

When everything was served, Baby and I were like... Shit, did we over order our food? Hahah! And see, we had so much leftover!!

No real tower so this would suffice. LOL!

Third stop: Xin She Castle // 新社庄园/新社古堡

The photo below shows a fountain (LOL! Like English oral...) which we can walk across the fountain. It's pretty cool. Just imagine people who didn't know about this and saw you walking in between the fountain... HAHAH!

All glam... Then came these...

Apparently, there was this super huge idk-what's-that-fly-called flying towards me then towards him. And Baby caught these super "glam" faces of mine while I was shocked at its appearance. Thanks ah Baby! HAHAHAH!

Then it's time for some Bollywood action...

After that, we had to walk up a hill which I was quite reluctant to... The slope was s steep omg!

I made it eventually... Cus I had no choice!

Bought fish food and fed the fish. One of the activities that I love doing the most!

Poor black swan that wasn't able to get the food

Tried my very best to throw as far as possible so that the 2 swans were able to get the food without being snatched away from the fish. But errr. I think they are too guai and tamed. The good example of 大让小 hahah!

So that was our last stop before we ended our 8-hrs day tour with the driver. He sent us to the road near our next accommodation at Fengjia and passed him the mini gift that we bought from the Moncoeur. Seriously, I'd recommend this driver! He's rlly very sincere in everything. The conversation we had during the journey, helping us to take photos and even telling us how to pose, history of the places, and all!!

Tel: 0913980396

You'll never be bored throughout the whole trip. Hmmm... But Baby mentioned that it was a bit hard to stop the conv when he's tired and trying to get some rest in the car cus he's rlly too friendly. Hahahah! Anyway, our accommodation (apartment) was booked through airbnb which can be found in this post.

One shamless selfie

Who doesn't like full length mirror?

Last stop: Fengjia Night Market // 逢甲夜市

Fengjia night market was just 4-minutes walk from where we were staying. It was rlly convenient because the market was just one street across. It was Tuesday on the day we visited this night market but guess what! It's so crowded as if it's a wkend!!

The moment we reached the night market, this 大肠包小肠 caught my attn and yes! We queued for this right away!

First time trying, and nope. I don't like it. Too oily.

Prefer this instead. I forgot what's this though.

Papaya milk again!
I love the papaya milk in Taiwan! First had it in Kaohsiung and WALAO SO DIFFERENT FROM THE ONES IN SINGAPORE LOR! Taiwan's papaya milkshake is so thick and I freaking love the taste so much!! But it's a bit sad that our skin will turn orange/yellow if we were to consume too much of it. That's also the reason why I had only 2-3 cups of papaya milk during this trip.

Then Baby said this devil chicken (I translated directly :/) was recommended by his sister? So we queued and there's this staff who was telling us that if we ever see another shop in Taichung (or was it Taipei) selling this chicken with the same name, do not buy from them cus it's fake brand whereas this is the original one. Anyway, he also mentioned that we could identify through the logo. The real one, like this, will have its teeth shows (see the devil's face) whereas the fake one was just a face without teeth...Even chicken meat also so competitive. WOW!

Facts aside, the meat was rlly tender and good!!

Just an hour into the night market and we've already bought so much food! Fat die us! hahahah! Shall end my Day 4 post with a photo of my beloved!!

It was also our monthsary that day

Goodbye and I shall be back after exams (if I don't get bored of studying during these period of time)!!
