Group Therapy Cafe,

Guess what! I have officially graduated! Yesterday was the ceremony for my course. Not gna touch on it for now because I'm not in the mood to do a graduation post yet.

*

Visited Group Therapy the other day with Twinny for lunch 2 days after I was back from my BKK trip. As usual, we got lost on our way to this cafe. But the reason for being lost was actually quite stupid - I got the wrong address. But anyway, we found the cafe after I searched the net for the correct unit number. Group Therapy is located at level 2 of 49 Duxton Rd. I've no idea how I managed to see 149 instead of 49 the night before.

Here's what we ordered:

Thick toast w smoked salmon @ $15

Chicken mushroom pie @ $14
Iced chai & iced dark chocolate

I prefer the salmon toast more than the pie. Maybe because I'm more of a salmon person. Never will I get sick of salmon. I wasn't supposed to have salmon after BKK trip due to the bed bugs bites but I forgot about my condition and ordered it :/ I think nothing would go wrong with salmon. Worth it!

I didn't finish the pie because I started with the toast first. This is also why I preferred salmon toast over the pie. My iced dark chocolate isn't as nice because I don't like dark chocolates. So this is just a biased thought.

Finally got a new laptop: ASUS Zenbook UX302. Initially I was still considering between Macbook Air and ASUS. But this laptop caught my attention when I first saw it (I was told by many not to get Macbook and my bro recommended me this laptop). I'm so in love with the colour of this laptop. It's greyish-blue or near there. Best part is that, it is slim lightweight and that's what I need for a laptop because I am required to carry all the way to school for projects for the next 2 years. I wouldn't want to carry smth heavy all the way from home to school. Instead of the normal metal/aluminium laptop surface, this laptop uses gorilla glass 3 to cover its lid. It is also a touchscreen laptop which isn't of much use for me personally. All good but one thing I'm still trying to get used to is its functions: Windows 8...

I need someone who knows how to retrieve my documents/photos/songs from my HP laptop at low cost! T_T

Gna sort out my BKK photos now. Goodbye!

Back from BKK,

My laptop is so dead now. I am currently updating this space via my phone. My source of entertainment is dead :(

I was watching my show halfway when my laptop decided to go blank screen all of a sudden. I need to retrieve my docs and photos. Shall pray hard that it's not the problem w the hard disk. Glad that B hasn't taken back his iPad. Replacement, LOL!

Back from BKK for the 4th day and I was told by the doctors that I had bed bugs bites. I noticed the redness on my skin and 2 were alrdy bleeding (dry one though) bcos I scratched it without knowing there's smth there. When I saw one bubble appeared in between my fingers, I began to worry. Mum told me chicken pox is like bubble-rish and I haven't had it before since birth. She called the clinic for appt right after I showed her. It was almost 9PM and the clinic closes at 9. Rushed our dinz and B accompanied me to the clinic. It turned out to be bed bugs bites (agn) and the doctor told me to observe till Sunday. Anyway, itch is damn unbearable for me!

Morale of the story: do not go for low prices hotel in overseas if you do not wish to have such thing happening to you/friends.

FM and I are determined to go for 4* hotels in future when we travel as a clique agn. No more budget ones bcos it made me uncomfortable the whole time I was in the hotel.

I will update on my cafe and BKK trip once I get a new laptop. I'm still considering which one to get though. Goodbye! :)

Lola's Cafe x Ice Edge,

Less than one day to BKK. Visited the doctor this morning due to some health issue. My immune system has been bad since birth. Why am I so unhealthy.

*

And so, I finally brought my mmr card together with my camera and spare battery out on the 7th of May, my 2nd off-day. Nua-ed at my house till 4plus and finally left for dinner @ Lola's Cafe. This cafe has been on my list for almost a year and I got to try it only recently. Supposed to go with Darling the other time but time didn't permit us to so we decided to skip it. Glad to say, I finally tried it! :D

Reached the cafe and they have this reservation system right outside the cafe due to high volume of customers during peak hours. I was actually amazed by this system. Baby received an SMS right after we completed the booking. The msg came with a link to let yknw how many table(s) were before yours. Cool right? K lah, I damn suagu.

Since there were 2 tables before us, we decided to explore a lil near Lola's Cafe and I found 2 places which I wna try next time! One of them is Punggol Nasi Lemak is located nearby. I was actually damn slow to realise it. But never too late, right? Went back to the cafe to wait for another 7mins or so and finally, the staff called Baby to inform him that our table was ready!

I saw this after we settled down:

You can even download the app to order your food using your phone! Why so in one! But no, we didn't install the app because our data would be used if so! HAHAH!

And here comes the food!

Truffle Fries @ $12

Duck Leg w Honey Mustard Sauce @ $16

Chicken Burger w Spicy Aioli, Served w Fries @ $14
My Duck Leg was rlly good. I love the combination of the meat and the mustard sauce. And best part is, THERE IS MASHED POTATO!!!! Sinful, but not sorry. Totally not regretful of ordering this despite the price. Didn't try B's food as I can't take spicy food at all. But he mentioned that it's good. Tender or smth.

Sadly, this photo doesn't do any justice.

And while I was taking all the photos, this boy was on his phone (as usual) playing his game.

It was raining heavily by the time we finished our dinz and none of us brought umbrella along. Decided to wait for the rain to get a bit smaller and walked to Heartland Mall. We were finding a place for dessert in Heartland Mall but sadly, there wasn't any. So I checked Foursquare and realised that Ice Edge was just ahead of Lola's Cafe.

Yes, we walked past Lola's Cafe again to Ice Edge. Quite dumb ah!

Anyway Ice Edge is very spacious. But the noise level is high too once you stepped into the cafe. Either that or my ears/brain are/is failing me. We don't know if one of the staffs there was new or what. She just ignored our presence and kept walking around the middle sections for a few times until another staff came to serve us.

Camwhored a bit while waiting for our desserts to be served. How can one not do so when you've brought your camera along? :D

Chocolate lava cake x Pistachio ice cream @ @12.80

Waffle x champagne vanilla ice cream @ $10
Both Zac and I don't fancy the waffle once we started eating the inner part. I find that it's only nice on the outside bcos it was a lil crispy. But the inside was a bit too moist for my liking. My champagne vanilla didn't taste good at first. That's because it was my first time having this flavour but after awhile, I find that it's good! Anyway, the chocolate lava cake was probably the better one between these two choices. Baby also mentioned that Pistachio ice cream is nice while I think it was okok only. I don't eat/like pistachio in the first place so my taste can't be trusted.

Just started watching Roommate a few hrs ago. It is a korean variety show about 11 celebrities living under one roof. They are being categorised into 3 groups: staying in a boarding house with their own members, staying with their parents and staying alone. This is a real-life activities and no one can hide their personalities since they will be there most of the times and there are 60 cameras all over the house. It is recommended by one of my colleagues and I can say, no one will regret watching.

I'm waiting for Park Bom's appearance in this variety show because I'm still at Ep. 1 only.

Gonna miss this boy dearly even though it's just 4 days away from Sg.

Goodbye.

ReStore Cafe,

Hello!

Monday was the last day of my 1.5 months of work! /POP PARTY POPPERS!/ I wouldn't say it's bad because most of the colleagues there are super fun and nice to talk to. So, I've been working for a Japan company in Takashimaya Shopping Centre. The person who interviewed me said it is an office. To my surprise, it was actually more of a counter/store. I guess there was some miscommunication. But anyway, I thought it would be as boring as my previous job which I quit after my 5th day. It was boring but at least I could surf the net when there's no walk-in customers. What's even better is that I could even watch my drama at the counter (without sound though) and in the store. Of course, that's only when one of my colleagues isn't working on that day. LOL! Oh yes, I'm jobless now!

*

So, Baby came back from Europe on 3rd May. It's been almost 2weeks! I had my consecutive off days on the 6th and 7th so we decided to go cafe-hopping on both days. We visited ReStore cafe, like finally, on the 6th!

The best thing which I've done on that day was that I brought my camera and spare battery out BUT NOT THE MMR CARD! Yes, go ahead and say that I'm forgetful T_T. So I lived with my phone camera throughout the whole trip. Just look at all the shaky and unfocused photos below. Sigh...

So we ordered two desserts there to share:

Chocolate, Almond, Banana waffle @ $9.80

Creme Caramel @ $6.80

We didn't really like Creme Caramel. I'm personally not a fan of custard pudding but I thought should give it a try. Baby and I kind of regretted and said that we should have tried Lemon Bundt Cake instead. But anyway, ReStore Living is a really small dessert cafe with quite a few vintage items. I especially love the tea cups set. Don't you think vintage items are pretty?

Narrow walkway

Headed to town for Superga but sadly, the colour that I want is still OOS. Had sudden craving for fries and so Baby suggested EwF since I haven't tried that before. Zoomed in from my phone image hence the bad quality.

I was deciding between BBQ and Sour Cream & Onion

Sour Cream & Onion Fries

Initially I was shocked by the amount of "white powder" when B opened the packet. I thought it would be bad but boy was I wrong! It tasted so nice esp when it's these kind of skinny fries. I hope the BBQ fries will be nice too!

Down to Chinatown for our dinz @ Maxwell Hawker Centre. It's a pity that the char kway teow was filled w chilli. The food was nice but sadly, the attitude of that stallholder wasn't. Took Downtown line for the first time to Bugis for dessert @ Ah Chew Desserts.

Honeydew + watermelon sago x grass jelly + longan

2 more days to my 4D3N BKK trip w few of my favourites. I hope the situation in BKK is under control right now and forever! So many things to do but I haven't even started preparing for it. Time to go, goodbye!

SPR♦MRKT,

I was checking out on the cafes and I chanced upon SPRMRKT just a day before meeting Twinny. We decided to patronise this cafe since the reviews were all positive.

Cr: T

SPRMRKT stands for Supermarket. It is located in the CBD area (in between Raffles Station and Tj Pagar Station). They go by the concept of food, retail and art. It can be very crowded during the lunch hours and it's quite a small place, I would say. I realised that most of the people working in that area will patronise this cafe during their lunch breaks (duh!). Anyway, the two blur girls couldn't find our way to the cafe. We walked the whole of McCallum Street (about 3 times) and even asked the people there for directions but to no avail until T's sharp eyes spotted the cafe opposite of where we were standing.

Cr: T
It's a pity that I was feeling rather full that day when I met up with T. Since the both of us couldn't make up our mind on what to eat, we decided to just ordered two plates of mains to share. These were what we ordered:

Salmon + Spinach Omelette @ $15

Eggs Benedict @ $14

I prefer the eggs benedict. It was really good. Maybe that's also because I prefer sunny side up egg with runny yolks than any other kinds of eggs. Then again, I wanted to try their truffle fries but the space in my stomach isn't big enough to fill so much food. I'll definitely be back for that again. I was quite tempted to try Eggs Royale too! /cue 2PM's *I'll Be Back*/

In addition, SPRMRKT changes their menu on a daily basis. So, do check their official website here for the menu if you are intending to go!

Shopped around with T in Orchard and finally had our Frolick (Hi, it's been long!). I bought myself an instax camera holder. Finally a cute cover for my camera because it is Hello Kitty. Speaking of Hello Kitty, Bro sort of persuaded me to purchase the set of Hello Kitty collection online for $80. He, being in Marketing course, definitely knows how to do it. He explained to me the pros of it. And yes, I find it worthy too. Hence, the purchased was made while I was working! 1 set of Hello Kitty + 6 McDonald's vouchers worth of $30 (actually the vouchers are the cons to me!). OF course, I won't be using all the 6 vouchers for myself. I really hope that my Hello Kitty collection will come in a full set and not one or two missing! /prays/
