JPN Day 5: Kyoto to Osaka,

Hello,

Here goes our 5th day in Japan!

On this day, we took a bullet train for 30 +/- minutes from Kyoto to Osaka with our JR Passes! These passes worked like magic for some reasons. Do consider purchasing it if you're ever travelling to Japan!

Before the travelling happened, we visited Omen Restaurant in Kyoto. We deposited our luggage in the lockers available at Kyoto Station before making our way to Omen Restaurant.

We were still contemplating whether to give this udon a miss but it was quite famous in Kyoto so I didn't want to forgo it knowing that I've already sacrificed Kichi-kichi omu rice. Hahah! This restaurant is located far from Kyoto Station so if you're visiting, do cater some more than enough time for travelling, queuing and eating.  There was queue when we reached and we waited for a good 15-20mins.

We ordered Seasonal Set and Nadai Omen Noodles (if not wrong?). Seasonal Set comes with long yam jelly, boiled yam stalked dressed with sesame and vinegar, deep-fried eggplant & wheat dumpling with miso paste, steamed rice ball and omen noodles.

While Nadai Omen Noodles is a house special noodle that is dipped into a soup of seasonal vegetable ingredients and sesame seeds. Baby ordered an extra tempura with an additional cost.

Made our way back to Kyoto Station and we reserved seats for our JR ride to Osaka before heading to their departmental store for some shopping where we lost track of time. Yes, we ran for our train with our luggage after releasing that we didn't have much time left before our train departed!

Yes, we lost track of time because of these mochi but I think the run was worth it lah because I like this box of mochi quite much while Mr. Z thought that these were too sweet for him :( Ok, actually Idk if it's called mochi but it tastes like. So yupp!

Reached Osaka after a nap, deposited our luggage in the locker at Osaka Station before proceeding to Osaka Castle.

Little food street

Walked a lil further and you'd see trucks of snacks - ice cream, takoyaki and etc - before reaching another museum (which we didn't enter). Guess what the glutton did? She couldn't decide which flavour to purchase and ended up buying two: ice cream soda and vanilla ice cream.

Guess what happened next? She tasted the respective flavour and decided to give Mr. Z the one that tasted super weird. HAHAHAH!

Anyway, it was near dinner time when we reached Osaka station. Remember that we missed the omu rice in Kyoto? We found one that is quite similar to that. I'm not saying that it tastes similar, because we haven't tried, but I'm saying that it looks really similar on the outside and I'm contented to try at least one omu rice in Japan!

Walked to Umeda Sky Building and I shall let the photos do the talking now!

Sorry my old camera doesn't focus on guys who are good looking

I could stay here 8eva!

Not sure if we retrieved our luggage after Umeda Sky Building but we visited Shinsekai on that night too. Errr, really not worth going so tourists, save your time and do something even more eventful that night such as visiting shopping malls if you can.

Apologies for the lack of description in this post because I'm mentally drained. #EYnYZ travelogue up next! :)

And till then!
