Japan Day 12: Akihabara x Asakusa x Sky Tower,

Hello,

Started our day with a bowl of delicious udon about 10 mins away from our apt. I was really craving for udon badly anyway. We found a place that sells udon, scanned the menu and the place and decided to just settle at this place for our brunch.

If you've been to Idaten Udon at Citylink Mall, you would know how this udon place works too. It's exactly the same. We chanced upon Idaten Udon after we were back from Japan and I thought it was good to relief our memories in Japan. I don't rmb seeing Idaten Udon in Singapore selling udon with dipping sauce? It'd be great if there's dried udon / dipping sauce in Sg!

The add-on sides

Cheese, butter, raw egg and soy sauce

Curry udon

Headed to Akihabara where we could roam on the roads freely. They close the roads on weekends hence humans can walk everywhere freely. No idea why though! Anyway, Akihabara is a place for people who love manga / anime! It's their haven!

There's really nothing much there, though we came back on another day for Maid Cafe and bbq dinner which will be near the end of this post... Other than that, I think it's really touch-and-go kind of place for us!

We proceeded to Asakusa next where there are streets of food and a temple. There's a super huge lantern in the middle of the entrance too! Tbh, there's just a lot to eat over there! If you would like to, go with an empty stomach. HAHAHAH!

After this, we headed to the Sky Tower. I think there's a Pokemon Centre there? But we didn't purchase anything there because it was JUST TOO CROWDED!!!!

If time permitted, I would have had a meal here because it seems super chillax!! We could even watch sunset here, why not!

Single tix (350m) for 3000yen; 350m+450m for 4000yen

Supposed to be a visible Mt. Fuji

But the weather wasn't good that day!

But the sunset made it better.

People queuing to try the VR headset
There's this lady who is maybe 40s / 50s holding the VR headset to her head and stayed at that position for a good 2 minutes long! Mr. Z was filming me turning round and round while I was trying it, then it was my turn to film baby when it was his turn. The lady was still at the same position AFTER Mr. Z passed it on to the next person! LOL!

I could see the face of the lady behind her being all impatient and wondering when she'd be turning her body to try the 360 deg function of the VR headset :/ But okay lah, she moved after the 2nd minute. I think she'd thought it was a headset which you can use it to watch movies? I mean, what else can one think of right?

Bird eye view! Love this view so much!

We went to Akihabara again at night because erm.... Food.

We gave Maid Cafe a visit. It was indeed an eye opening experience for me. One downside is that no photography is allowed in the cafe. But oh golly! I hadn't have expected the guys to be this enthusiastic. Well, it was one of their birthdays anyway! We ordered a plate of gyoza and a beverage each and zao as soon as we finished because, 1) People were smoking 2) We wanted to go for kbbq at Gyu-Kaku that is s'where near this cafe

I personally feel that the food was good but perhaps not the service! Or maybe it's just us... LOL! Idk? Anyway, Mr. Z said that there's another branch and he patronised that other branch with his family previously and the service there was so much better. Hmmm...

Ended our day after settling our dinner here. Bought Cheese baked tart and off we headed back to our apt to rest :)

Goodbye!
